WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe the Lord our God is one. He is our everlasting Father. He is our creator. We believe that God is three persons in one: The Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Jesus is the Son of God who came to redeem us from slavery to sin. He is the promised Messiah, the Savior of the world. He lived to represent God to the world. He shed his blood on the cross and died so we could have eternal life.
The Holy Spirit lives in the heart of the believer in Christ. The Holy Spirit is our guide and comforter.
The Bible is the inspired word of God. Men wrote as they were inspired by the Spirit of God. The Bible is the infallible word of God. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
We are saved by grace through faith, not by works. In order to receive that grace, one must declare with their mouth, “Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in their heart that God raised him from the dead, and you will be saved. For it is with you heart you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
Baptism is by submersion. We are baptized in obedience to Jesus command that we go into all world making disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Observance of the Lord’s Supper or Communion is in following with Jesus instituting a new covenant with his disciples on the night before he was crucified. During the Lord’s Supper we eat of the bread which is symbolic of his body that was broken for us, and we drink of the cup which is symbolic of his blood that was shed for the remission of our sins. When we do it, we do it in remembrance of him until he comes again.
Mary, the mother of Jesus, conceived him through the Holy Spirit. Jesus was both divine and human.
Jesus was crucified on the cross and buried in a borrowed tomb. On the third day he rose from the grave. Just as Jesus was resurrected so will all believers in Christ be resurrected to live eternally with God.
Sanctification is the continuous growth process of a believer in Christ. Sanctification is becoming more and more like Christ every day. We are to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are to become mature Christians in the word of Go so we are not carried away by false doctrines.
